Cherry Horseradish Ham
          

A daring ham glaze that wakes up every tastebud in your mouth.  Salty ham, sweet cherry jam and fiery horseradish.


      Ingredients

6 - 8 pound semi-boneless ham half

1/2 cup cherry helly or jam

1/4 cup red wine

3 tablespoons good jarred horseradish

3 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon coarse black pepper


      The Recipe

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.  Prepare ham by making several long slips lengthwise down the ham, about 1/2" deep.  Place in a large roasting pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients (it's okay if it's a little lumpy).  Brush about 1/3 of the glaze on the ham.  Bake 1 1/2 hours, uncovered, basting several more times with the rest of the glaze.  Let rest 15 minutes and carve away.
