The Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, put chocolate cake mix and Cool Whip. With a rubber spatula, fold the two ingredients together by hand. It takes a little muscle, but just keep working it. The mixture will be thick and sticky.
Coat hands with powdered sugar (so the dough won't stick) and form into 1" balls. Dip balls in powdered sugar and place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. (They spread out during baking.)
Bake 12 - 15 minutes or until edges are slightly firm and middle is slightly soft. Allow to cool on cookie sheet 5 minutes before removing to cooling racks. Makes about 36.
P.S. The raw dough is fabulous!
Another P.S. You can use any kind of cake mix you'd like (as long as it doesn't have pudding in the mix) and once I even folded some mini chocolate chips in the dough.
