Melt in Your Mouth Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Three ingredients!  When your husband is a grilled cheese fanatic, you make him a great one.

      Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry

2 tablespoons good brown mustard

1/2 pound thinly sliced Gruyere cheese

1/3 pound shaved ham (optional)

      The Recipe

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.  Line a baking pan with parchment paper.  Thaw puff pastry for about 20 minutes, or until softened but still cold.  Place on a lightly floured cutting board.  Pinch together seams.  Prick all over with a fork.  Cut in half widthwise, then cut lengthwise so you have 4 squares (note:  for larger pieces of puff pastry, you can make 4 sandwiches - just increase the other ingredients).  Place 2 squares on baking sheet and spread with mustard.  Top with cheese slices and ham, if you like.  Put tops on and bake 20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.  Allow to cool for a minute and cut each in half.  Serve warm with a bowl of tomato soup.  Serves 2.  Also, you can cut them into smaller pieces and serve as an appetizer.
