Cheddar-Apple Pork Chops

The combination of juicy pork chops, sweet applesauce and sharp Cheddar cheese makes for a delicious Fall dinner.

      Ingredients

4 - 6 thick-cut pork chops
1 cup apple cider
Sweetened applesauce
4 - 6 slices of sharp white Cheddar cheese

      The Recipe

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Arrange pork chops in roasting pan, pour cider over and season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook 40 minutes, or until pork is ever so slightly pink inside.
Remove from oven and reset oven to broil. Spoon a couple of tablespoons of applesauce on each pork chop. Top with a slice of Cheddar. Put under broiler until cheese is lightly browned and bubbly. Serves 4 - 6.
Suggestions: Serve with a mound of steamed Brussels sprouts tossed with toasted almond slices.
