Buttermilk Pecan Breakfast Bites

Like mini monkey bread.  Totally addicting!


1 stick butter

1 tube (8) large buttermilk biscuits

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1/4 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1/4 teaspoon salt

      The Recipe

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Place butter in a 10" pie plate and melt in oven (about 2 minutes).  With kitchen scissors, cut each biscuit into 1/2" strips, then into pieces about the size of miniature  marshmallows.  Place in buttered pie place and arrange in single layer.  Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the top.  Bake about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Meanwhile, make icing:  Place powdered sugar in a medium bowl.  Stir in buttermilk until it is the consistency of gravy.  Fold in pecans.

With a spoon, drizzle the icing all over the baked biscuits. Sprinkle with salt.  Allow to cool completely (you can speed up the process by placing the pie plate on an oven mitt in the refrigerator.  Serves 6.
