Bird Food for People

An addicting mixture of munchies that has a thousand uses...and vitamins and protein to boot.

      Ingredients

2 cups green pumpkin seeds
1 can roasted Spanish peanuts (12.5 oz)
2 cups roasted sunflower seeds (no shells)
1 1/2 cups golden yellow raisins

      The Recipe

Place pumpkin seeds (also known as pepita nuts) in a roasting pan and bake at 400 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes or until lightly golden and 'popped'. Allow to cool.
In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin seeds with the rest of the ingredients. Store in air-tight container at room temperature.
Here are just a few things you can do with Bird Food for People:
Keep some in your desk at work and grab a handful for a snack (instead of a donut).
Pack a handful in your children's lunch (instead of chips).
Sprinkle on vanilla yogurt for lunch.
Buy plain bran flakes and add Bird Food.
Use as a topping for ice cream or frozen yogurt.
Use on steamed broccoli to give it pizzaz.
Stir into applesauce to make it interesting.
Fold into banana bread batter before baking.
Sprinkle on a green salad.
