Chinese Honey Butter Shrimp
Chinese Five Spice seasons this finger food that will disappear in minutes.
Ingredients
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup soy
Juice of 1/2 lemon
5 tablespoons butter
2 pounds raw, cleaned, tail-on large shrimp
2 teaspoons Chinese Five Spice, divided
The Recipe
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy and lemon. Set aside.
Melt butter in a large skillet. Add shrimp, spreading evenly in pan. Sprinkle on 1 teaspoon Chinese Five Spice, flip with a spatula and season second side with remaining spice. Cook about two minutes, turn again and sear second side. After one minute, pour honey mixture over and toss gently, cooking one minute more. Serve in a bowl with a smaller bowl for the tails. Serves 8 for an appetizer.
