Creamy Barbecued Chicken

A 6-ingredient flavor-packed barbecue sauce inspired by my cream sauce-loving husband.


1/2 cup ketchup

1/4 cup white wine

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/2 cup molasses

1 teaspoon bottled hot sauce

1/4 cup heavy cream

4 bone-in, skin-on chicken breast halves


Place ketchup, wine, molasses, soy sauce and hot sauce in a medium saucepan.  Stir to blend and bring to a boil.  Let cook about 2 minutes for flavors to marry.  Remove from heat and stir in cream.

Brush sauce on tops of chicken and place on grill, sauce side down.  Sear for a minute or two, sauce the bottom, and flip.  Continue to cook until chicken is done, turning and basting several times.

Serves 4.
