My daughter Erin joins me in the kitchen to prepare a one-dish meal featuring 'miniature trees', ground sirloin and gooey cheese. A great way to get lots of broccoli into your diet.
3-4 bunches of broccoli cut into florets, or about 10-12 cups
1 1/2 lbs. lean ground sirloin
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup hot chili oil
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 cups grated Mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Place broccoli in a large glass bowl, add about 1/4 cup water, partially cover and microwave 10 - 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until broccoli is tender. Meanwhile, cook ground sirloin in a little olive oil until browned.
Drain broccoli and place in a large roasting pan. Toss with olive oil and chili oil. Spread cooked meat on top. Sprinkle Mozzarella cheese on top of the meat. Bake 5 - 7 minutes, or until cheese is melted and lightly browned. Enough for 8 - 10 servings.
