Includes everything he loved: Steak, Cheddar cheese, chili peppers, Brandy and Tootsie Rolls
For steak fries:
2 sirloin steaks, cut into 1/2" thick strips
2/3 cup flour
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons pepper
1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
Vegetable oil for frying
FOR THE FRITTATA:
Olive oil
1 onion, chopped
3-4 chili peppers, diced
6 large eggs, beaten
1/2 teaspoon EACH salt and pepper
2 cups grated sharp Cheddar cheese
2 medium tomatoes, diced
FOR THE FINAL TOUCH:
Coffee with brandy
Tootsie Rolls
MAKE STEAK FRIED: Mix together flour, salt, pepper and garlic in medium bowl. In a large, oven-proof skillet, heat about 1/2" vegetable oil. Dredge steak pieces in flour mixture and fry until browned (about 7 minutes). Drain on paper towel-lined baking sheet and keep warm in low oven.
MAKE FRITTATA: Discard vegetable oil from skillet and add a splash of olive oil. Saute onion and peppers until tender. Remove to a bowl. Add butter to same skillet. Add eggs and cook over medium heat until bottom is set. Sprinkle on onion-pepper mixture, cheese and tomatoes. Place under broiler until cheese melts. Serve a slice of Frittata with steak fries, coffee with a splash of brandy and Tootsie Rolls for dessert. Serves 4.
