My 11-year old granddaughter shows me her sweet and tangy salsa recipe featuring the golden berry.
2 pints golden berries, washed
2 medium tomatoes
1 teaspoon lime juice
1 teaspoon hot sauce
2 cloves minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon grated dark chocolate
Chips for dipping
In a medium bowl, mash golden berries with a potato masher. Dice tomatoes and mix in. Add lime juice, hot sauce, garlic, cumin and chocolate. Mix gently. Serve with salty chips - or even something sweet, like vanilla wafers. Enough for about 8.
