Clove-Crusted Ham Steak with Bourbon-Black Pepper Apples. Will Robin win the challenge?
7 tablespoons butter, divided
1 ham steak
4 teaspoons ground cloves
3 yellow Delicious apples, sliced
3 tablespoons Bourbon
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
In a ham steak-sized skillet, melt 5 tablespoons butter. Place ham steak in pan, dust top with one teaspoon cloves and turn ham to sear cloves on. When seared, flip ham and dust with remaining one teaspoon cloves.
Meanwhile, in a medium skillet, melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Add apples and saute until apples start to get tender. Add bourbon and black pepper and cook on high heat one minute, or until bourbon is almost evaporated. Place ham on plate and top with apples. Serves 2 - 3.
