A place that employs artists to make your coffee beautiful; a place that brews a cup one very long drip at a time; a historic place that has poured 35 million cups so far; and my favorite place of all.....plus, my recipe for Brown Sugar French Press Coffee.
Good quality medium grind coffee
Brown sugar
Heavy whipping cream
Place 3 heaping tablespoons medium ground coffee in the bottom of a French coffee press. Fill it 3/4 full with boiling water. Place top on (but don't plunge!). Let sit 4 minutes to steep. Meanwhile, whip about 1/3 cup heavy cream until very soft peaks form (don't add sugar).
Very slowly plunge coffee. Place 1 tablespoon brown sugar in the bottom of each mug. Pour coffee over and top with whipped cream. Makes 2 - 3 servings. Note: A splash of Kahlua or whiskey is a nice addition.
