Fried Green Tomatoes with a Brown Sugar Crust

Pan-fried slices of green tomatoes with brown sugar and cream.


Ingredients:

4 large green tomatoes, trimmed and cut into 1/2" slices

2/3 cup flour, seasoned with salt and pepper

3 tablespoons butter

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup heavy cream


Recipe:

Dip tomato slices into seasoned flour and fry in hot butter in a large skillet.  Flip when browned, sprinkle brown sugar on tomatoes and turn again.  Season second side with brown sugar.  Flip again and fry until browned.  Turn heat off and drizzle with cream.  Serve immediately.  Serves 4 - 6.
